After working together for nearly 15 years at EJ Malloy’s, owner Brent Brakebill and manager Corrie Matthews thought it was time to introduce a new vision for EJ’s. While EJ’s will always identify as a sports bar, restaurant, and grill it will now embrace it’s more European roots.
It was time to step-up the food associated with the “pub” concept and Bixby Knolls is the perfect neighborhood to launch our vision; it’s a neighborhood always hungry for more from the restaurant industry. Uptown residents are not only looking for a modern menu with smarter food and more options, but they are willing to try new things. Also, local brewer Smog City ushered in a new movement in our neighborhood and we realized that making the jump from 10 draft beers to 27 was a must. Now we are able to feature a wonderful variety of local craft beers. We have also built an extensive whiskey and scotch list that has become a big attraction in the area.
Change is risky, no matter how confident you are in your choices, but Brent and Corrie couldn’t be happier with the new EJ’s Pub. EJ Malloy’s will always be in their hearts, but EJ’s Pub gets to take the core of EJ Malloys and have a bit more fun.
